The form and structure of the entire elevated bicycle track is adapted from the various elements of a bicycle. In addition to simply aping the forms of said elements, the use of these elements in the elevated bicycleway is in keeping with the original functions of the bicycle elements. Explained below is the derivation of the various structural elements of the bicycleway from a standard bicycle. 
A number of governments across the world, India included, have been advocating a modal shift from cars to greener, less polluting, and more sustainable modes of transport, of which one is bicycling. We propose that this modal shift be not just figurative, but literal. As such, we propose that the elevated cycleway be built from steel recycled from cars.
Cycle Up was a competition Anant and I worked on during our urban design semester for the first round and thesis semester for the final round which was held in Kolkata.
