Actively involved in interacting with communities in various slum pockets in Delhi and Mumbai through documenting their stories through photography and filmography. My experience as an architect helped me create visual stories that was in line with the non profit’s vision. My role also involved generating visual content for fundraising campaigns
Billionbricks is a one-of-a-kind non-profit that uses design and technology as its tools to innovate shelter and infrastructure solutions for the homeless and vulnerable.
Having worked on content generation for Billionbricks through various documentation media, which involved visiting various slums in Delhi and Mumbai, increased my exposure in understanding various aspirations of people living below the poverty line. The documentation required meticulous planning and coordination from various stakeholders and by developing shoot strategies. My interactions from people living in homeless shelters and streets led me to understand various problems and potential for design interventions for them. It also increased my willingness to contribute to people who are in need of innovative design interventions the most. I currently work part time for billionbricks involving myself in documentation, taking my weekends off from work to contribute in a small way. The experiences I had in the slums are ample which aid me as an Architect and Designer to involve people from lower economic groups in design conversations and interventions
